Iconic Gymnastics Academy is always looking for more volunteers.
There are many ways to help the club:
Welfare Officer.
We care deeply about the wellbeing, concerns and safety of all our members, parents/guardians and staff. Although the responsibility for safeguarding is for everyone, welfare officers provide a critical role in being responsible for the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people within the club.
All British Gymnastics clubs and gymnastics events are required to have a welfare officer.
Welfare officers are responsible for;
• Responding to child protection and poor practice concerns.
• Providing support and advice in the implementation of procedures that safeguard
and promote the welfare of children.
• Assisting the club to be more child-focused in its activities e.g. involving children
in decision making processes.
If you wish to become a welfare officer the club will complete an enhanced DBS check before enrolling you on to a safeguarding and a a time to listen course.
Fundraising.
Have you got fun and creative ideas or great organisation skills? We are always interested in fundraising ideas and even better if there is someone interested in organising an event. Money from fundraising will go back into the gym such as going towards buying new exciting equipment.
Coaching.
Perhaps you are interested in getting involved with coaching. Coaching is incredibly rewarding and fulfilling.
You might just want to learn the basics or start your way on the path towards becoming a qualified coach.
After an enhanced DBS check you will be introduced to a qualified coach who will mentor and guide you through your coaching journey.
We are also looking for friendly meet and greeters who are happy to help on certain weeks of the term and at any events we might hold.
